There have been a few camping closures by council recently in the Dungog Shire. Here’s a run down on the latest places to stay in the district…
- Williams River Holiday Park is scheduled to reopen for the Easter school holidays with approximately 58 sites being made available on the hilltop (20 sites) and adjacent to the river (37 sites). A section of the area on the riverbank will be reserved for self-contained moveable dwellings such as RVs. Further major events capacity will later be brought on line in the riverside area for Hoedown and other festivals.
- There is currently no legal camping at Wharf Reserve and any persons camping there will be moved on. It is Council’s intention to lodge a development applications in regard to primitive camping at the site (10 sites). This development application is in the early stages of its preparation.
- Following the development of a Plan of Management for the site, it is intended to lodge an application for primitive camping at the Dungog Showground. Until that process is complete camping – other than that associated with major events – will not be allowed.
- A temporary halt is in place in regard to camping at the Paterson Sportsground
