South Coast NSW Must See: Wallagoot Gap

I can’t believe we travelled all the way to Bournda National Park and missed this beauty! Wallagoot Gap in Bournda National Park is on the New South Wales’ Sapphire Coast. Bermagui to Wonboyn is known as the Sapphire Coast – and is home to many gems of locations! This well hidden beach is only minutes from Tathra and Merimbula. Wallagoot Gap is a 200 metre walk from Turingal Head Picnic Area (find the day use area in the CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App). You’ll reach a timber platform and stairs down to the beach. Make sure you bring your camera, as

Best ocean pools on the New South Wales South Coast

Aslings Beach Pool, Eden Never have I ever seen so many ocean pools in the one Aussie roadtrip, from Wollongong area to Eden. I don’t mean natural rock pools, but man-made swimming pools that meet the sea! I had swim lessons at Snapper Rocks “baths”, next to Queensland’s most southerly Froggie Beach. As we travelled along the southeastern coast of Australia, we were keen to check them

The Easter Bilby and Bunny are almost here, and we hope you are camping! Our youngest was working in “Lonnie”, Tassie last week, and sent us pics from his hike into beautiful Cataract Gorge. (We didn’t realise we’d been pronouncing Launceston wrong – it’s not “Lawn” but “Lon”!) I love it when our kids send me photos, and especially that they are travellers and campers! This week’s newsletter is full of Easter savings, destinations and tips! Also note that school holidays scramble across the states – 29 March -14 April for QLD, VIC and WA; 6-15 April in NT and

Buchan Caves, VIC We report glad tidings – three major tourist attractions have reopened: Buchan Caves in Victoria, plus Ebor Falls and Wombeyan Caves New South Wales. Buchan Munji (Buchan Caves Reserve) When we visited only a couple of weeks back, Buchan locals were not sure if Buchan Caves was opening in a week or closed for a year! Following major flooding that hit the area on Boxing Day, we are pleased to hear the caves will reopen to visitors ahead of the Easter long weekend. Home to Victoria’s largest cave system, tours and the campground bookings are due to

Boy, have we seen some awesome free camps lately! Although we’ve based ourselves at Dinner Plain- we’ve had epic drives through the Victorian High Country.
