Clifton Showgrounds, Queensland Camps Australia Wide were probably the first ones to list showground camps! We love them, too! They are generally cheap, pet friendly and spacious BUT they have facilities. They’re a great place to start if you want to try different types of camping, because you still have the comforts of toilets, showers etc AND they are generally fenced, with a caretaker, or close to- if not in – town. Heesco Crows Nest Showgrounds will be open for campers from January 4 – 30, 2022! The local Show Society, a volunteer organisation has secured Heesco, a world renowned muralist known for silos painted in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Crow’s Nest will be Heesco’s first Queensland mural. The two 40 metre murals will be themed ‘Crows Nest Show’ and ‘Grown in the High Country’. We’ve updated price ranges for the Camps Australia Wide App – please aware Bellingen Showground is no longer budget priced. Rates increased this month for powered and unpowered sites, includes amenities. Under 5s are free. Bellingen is a beautiful town in the mid NSW coast region, and the showground is close to shops and the river. It is pet friendly (pets on leads) and glamping is now available, too. Did you know at Toogoolawah Showgrounds, you can park anywhere you like? And they are community run, not by council but by the Show Society? We spoke to Bill, who sometimes helps out the caretaker, and knows the area, just north of Esk in the Brisbane Valley, quite well. He said you can choose your spot – “all 40 acres – we’ve had nearly 400 caravans here once!” It only costs $20 a night and $3 for the dump point for non patrons.
