Tour the Great River Road

Heatley and I at Clarke Lagoon Wildlife Reserve VIC Free camp after free camp, sculptures, pub trails and history… The Great River Road in the Upper Murray, crossing Victoria and New South Wales,  is a must-do!  Lake Hume – Great River Road VIC I first heard about “The Great River Road” as we picnicked at Khancoban, New South Wales and stopped at Corryong, Victoria, last month.  We saw the infant Murray River at Tom Groggin Campground in NSW’s Kosciuszko National Park. Must see: Red Rock Beach, NSW

A stand out destination, Red Rock Beach is north of Coffs Harbour, NSW. You can see why it has that name – but have you visited?  It is just so special because it has two beaches – offering totally different experiences, a creek and a river! Corindi River and the beaches surround Reflections Holiday Park Red Rock.  After lunch in the picnic area (watching kayakers), we swam at Little Beach, perfect for families at this sheltered cove.  There was even a bit of shade on the sand when we visited from the Pandanus trees. She even saw a cane train for the first time, and took her dog, Nessie, on a boat.  Starting in Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, here where Sarah and her van Brian’s eight days were spent: MV Sarawak, Inskip Point, Rainbow Beach MV Sarawak, Inskip Point, Rainbow Beach – image Sarah from @allthegear.illustrated At Inskip Peninsula Recreation Reserve, you are right near K’gari Fraser Island, and north of

Take a sunflower trip

The Darling Downs in Queensland is THE place for sunflower drives. Sunflowers are a summer crop and only flower for 3-4 weeks. But you can find sunflowers from December to March and more on Darling Downs road trips.  For next season, pick your own at Warraba Sunflowers at Cambooya, Queensland. It is now closed. Tips: Please be respectful of farmers. Only go into properties if you have permission. Otherwise, take photos from the fence and enjoy that colour. More to see and do (from a local – Heatley grew up here, and our first bub was born in Toowoomba): Lake Leslie Goomburra State
