When you first download the Camps Australia Wide app, you will be prompted to Register an account or Log In.
For new users
If you are a new user please enter your preferred email address, then enter your name and then create a password by following the rules displayed, then create a username or use the autofilled name that is generated by our system. Tap Sign Up at the bottom of the page to complete the registration process and agree to the Camps App Terms and Conditions.
Once registration is complete, you will be offered the option subscribe to the Camps App (your first 7-days are free). Once you have confirmed your free trial start you will be able to add your friends to your profile, add a profile photo and add your travel style to your profile bio. You can choose to skip these steps however we’d recommend completing them so your public profile looks really good when you are commenting, posting and leaving reviews in the Camps Community.
For returning users
If you already have an account with us, choose the Log In option at the bottom of the screen, then simply enter your email and password in the entry fields and tap Log In with email to proceed.
If you have previously logged in using a social sign in (Apple/Facebook/Google) you MUST ALWAYS use this method to access your account in the future. Please note: Your password for this account is managed within your Apple/Facebook/Google account and you cannot reset this password directly via the Camps App.
This would most likely be that you have not yet registered an account with us before trying to access the Camps App. A user account is not automatically created just by purchasing a Camps book, you need to create an account and subscribe to access the app. Please refer to the instructions provided when you scan the QR code on your Guidebook cover and/or in your order confirmation email to redeem your 1-year free App trial.
To reset your password, follow one of the processes below.
Please note – all Passwords must contain at least 8 Characters, this must include a Capital letter, a number and a non alphabet Character, for example !@#$% etc.

If you have forgotten your password at the Login screen
The password reset link has a time limit on it for security reasons, if your link is listed as invalid when clicked, please tap the Request a new link button to resend.
If you don’t receive the password reset email within 10 minutes, please check your Spam or Junk folders as sometimes these emails may get caught in your spam filter.
If, after checking your junk/spam, you still have not received an email, please contact Camps Australia Wide direct via email at – [email protected] or by phone on 07 5486 2542
Lastly, you can reset your password by accessing the Camps App Account Portal, linked here
https://portal.campsaustraliawide.com/auth
On the log in landing page, below the Password field, you will see the option Forgot Password. Tap this and you will be prompted to enter the email address of your account. Please tap Send to complete the request.

To update the email for your account please contact – [email protected] or call 07 5474 2542 for assistance. You need to update these details directly with us to ensure all of your trips, favourites, subscriptions etc are preserved and consolidated into a single account and to ensure you do not have more than one active account.
Please Note – If you have registered with Camps Via your Facebook/Apple/Google account, we are not able to reset your password or email address as these credentials come from your account settings within those platforms. We can create a direct account with us though and transfer your account from those services.
You can definitely stay logged in so the App is ready to use each time you need it.
However, if the App is asking you to log-in each time you return to the app, this can be caused by two issues;
You are actually logging out of the Camps App after each use, which then requires you to log back in on the next use of the app. Only log out of the Camps app completely via the in-app menu if you are planning to log into a different account, otherwise just use your device’s native controls to close the app. Refer to the links below if you do not know how to do this.
https://support.google.com/android/answer/9079646?hl=en
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201330
Alternatively, if your valid payment method set with the app store has lapsed since you installed the Camps App, the device will “forget” the subscription each time you use it as Apple/Google has locked your account’s subscriptions until you update your payment method with them. Refer to the links below on how to fix this issue.

This most likely means the email address you are using to access the app has not been registered with us yet. But there are a few other situations to consider first.
You may have previously registered under another email address and need to ensure you are trying to access the Camps App from the correct account. If you are not sure if you have an account registered, please contact [email protected] and we can check to see if you have previously registered an account with us.
You have previously registered an account with us using a specific email address but you are now trying to log into the account using the Apple/Google/Facebook connect feature. Although the underlying email address may be the same as your Apple/Google/Facebook account, these are treated as separate accounts by our system as the password credentials are set separately with those accounts.
The opposite situation can also apply, you may have registered an account using Apple/Google/Facebook, then try to log in using the same email address but not via the Apple/Google/Facebook connect feature. Please always use the same method for singing into the Camps app or account portal to reduce the risk of duplicating your account.
Lastly, you may also have never registered an account with us at all and need to choose to Register an account instead of Logging in, this will register an account with us and give you access to the Camps App.
If you have any issues with account registration or login, please contact [email protected] and we can check the status of your account for you.
There can be several reasons for this issue arising;
First, you may not have actually registered an account with us yet. Please refer to the I am trying to sign in but the Camps App says the account is invalid? point above to ensure you have a valid account held with Camps Australia Wide.
Next, the password reset email has been blocked by your email provider’s Junk/Spam filter. Please check your Junk/Spam folder in your email to see if it is there.
If you have any issues with account registration or login, please contact [email protected] and we can check the status of your account for you.
Please Note – The password reset link is a timed link and will expire after 15 minutes from request. You can request a new link be sent to your email from within the app if the link has expired.
Once you have completed your account registration you can log in the same account on multiple devices, or create multiple accounts using Family sharing.
You can access the Camps app on multiple device platforms AFTER you have completed registration. For example, once you have set up your account Via an Apple device, you are then able to Log into the same account Via an Android device or vice versa.
If you would like to set up multiple accounts under one subscription, so you and your partner can have your own favourites, trips etc, you must enable Family sharing on both devices.
Please refer to the How to set up Family Sharing FAQ right below this one for further instructions.
Please note – the App is not currently compatible with your laptop or computer browser.
Please refer directly to the Apple support article, linked below, for a full description of the Family Sharing set up process:
Please refer directly to the Google Play support article, linked below, for a full description of the Family Sharing set up process:
We undertake two types of updates for the App – site information updates and new app feature updates and improvements.
Site Information Updates
We are always publishing new site information as well as new sites and site closures on the App. You do not need to take any actions to get updates regarding site information, this is an automated process and the app updates each time you use the app.
Please note – you will need to have access to cellular data or Wi-Fi for updates to populate. Any new site info will automatically update whilst you are online, however you will need to manually update your offline maps files for them to stay up to date. Please refer to the Offline Maps FAQ’s for further information on how to remove your old offline maps downloads and download new files.
App Feature Updates
As a registered app user you will receive access to all new free app features which are launched. If you are a Camps+ Premium Membership subscriber you will receive access to all new exclusive member benefits and premium app features which are launched.
These updates will happen automatically if you have auto-updates enabled in your device’s settings, otherwise you will need to manually update via the App stores. See links below for how to enable automatic updates for both Apple and Android devices.
This is a policy of the Apple App store and Google Play store, not Camps Australia Wide. As the host for download of our app, the app stores have their own rules around trials and subscriptions which the Camps App is subject to.
The app stores require a payment method to be registered with them to start a trial before subscribing. If there is no ability to continue the subscription once the trial is completed, the app stores will not allow you to access the trial period. You can still try the app for free during a trial, as long as you cancel before the trial period lapses, you will not incur any charges.
Yes you do need to subscribe to access the Camps App. The App subscription is 7-days free then a low annual subscription of $14.99 per year. To learn more about the app features included in the Camps App Yearly Plan go here.
A Camps App subscription unlocks all app features and benefits including access to thousands of verified sites, easy navigation and all the site details you need, ability to book direct in the app, latest reviews and photos, Trip Planner, Offline Maps, Offline Trip Planner Maps, and Live Fuel and Gas Prices and Locations across Australia within the App PLUS gives you access to huge inflation busting discounts at retailers nationwide (saving you thousands each year). For just $14.99/yr AUD you can travel smarter and keep more money in your pocket!
As the owner of a Camps Australia Wide guidebook you are eligible for 1-year free app access then $14.99/year. This gives you an extended free trial to use the App.
To redeem this offer scan the QR code on the cover of your Guidebook with your smartphone and follow the onscreen prompts and instructions to redeem. Or use your purchase confirmation email from the Camps Australia Wide Shop and follow the instructions in the email.
This offer is only valid for new app subscribers and cannot be applied to existing subscriptions.
If you need assistance with redeeming your 1-year free please contact the Camps Support Team.
The password asked for when you start a new subscription or renew a subscription is the one associated with your device’s Apple or Google Play Account (ID).
If your password is rejected here, this may be for a couple of reasons.
OR
Please refer to the article below if you need to reset your Apple ID Password;

Please refer to the article below if you need to reset your Google ID Password;

Sometimes you may be logged onto multiple accounts on Android devices and the Camps App purchase may be associated with an alternate account.
It is advised to not operate multiple accounts on one device to avoid issues with payments and subscriptions.
Please refer to the article below on how to manage multiple accounts with Google Play;
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1721977?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid
These issues can be caused by not having a valid payment method currently set-up within your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account. The Camps App cannot renew a Camps subscription with the App stores if your Apple/Google account is locked because no valid payment method is available.
This can happen if you have never set-up an Apple/Google payment method OR a previously added billing method has now expired (i.e. your credit card has expired and you have been recently issued a new bank card with new expiry dates).
To re-activate your Camps subscription you will need to update your billing info with your Apple Account/Google Play Account. This will unlock your App Store account and allow the Camps App to synchronise your Camps subscription within the app.
Please refer to the articles below for more information;
For Apple users;
https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201266
For Android Users;
https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/4646404?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
There can be several reason for this issue;
You may have previously been on the free app plan. From December 2024 free app users will need to upgrade to the new Yearly $14.99/year plan to maintain app access. You can check if you were on the free plan or previously had a subscription using the instructions below. If you were on the free plan, you can upgrade using the paywall page inside the App to regain access.
OR
Your Camps App Yearly subscription may have lapsed or be associated with an alternate email address. Please check your subscription status before proceeding;
For Apple User please see the – How do I check my subscription status on Apple? FAQ below
Android Users please see the – How do I check my subscription status on Android? FAQ below
If you have confirmed that your account has an active subscription, please tap the “Restore Purchases” button in the bottom right corner of the Camps app to repair the subscription connection to your account.
If your subscription has lapsed please choose to resubscribe within the Camps App login process to start a new subscription.
If no subscription is displayed on this list then your Apple/Google account does not have an active subscription associated with it and you will need to start a trial to access the Camps App.
Please note: Android users can have multiple accounts on one device, you need to make sure you are logged into the correct account on your device for the subscription to display on the list, refer to I have subscribed to the App on my Android device but it isn’t showing in my subscriptions list? FAQ above for more information on this issue.
If you are still experiencing issues after this please contact [email protected] or call 0407 230 021 during business hours for technical support.
