Redbank Park (QLD site 444 in CAMPS 11) was a donation site but is now $6 per vehicle per night, using an honesty system. If you love fishing or birdwatching, then it is for you.
A stand out destination, Red Rock Beach is north of Coffs Harbour, NSW. You can see why it has that name – but have you visited? It is just so special because it has two beaches – offering totally different experiences, a creek and a river! Corindi River and the beaches surround Reflections Holiday Park Red Rock. After lunch in the picnic area (watching kayakers), we swam at Little Beach, perfect for families at this sheltered cove. There was even a bit of shade on the sand when we visited from the Pandanus trees. Beware of tidal channels here. Note:
Located 53 km from Manjimup in Southern WA Western Australia – Shannon National Park is well worth a visit.
Here’s a great little campground we had not heard anyone tell us about – budget priced and it comes with an interesting name and a hike to dizzying heights.

Here’s some of the bird life at Leyburn, Queensland, Australia and a look at their FREE recreation ground. CAMPS at Leyburn Sports Ground It is a great spot to set up your tent, caravan or Big Rig. The site is lovely, grassy and HUGE. image Karen & Mal Grice This free campground has a 72 hour limit – with new showers, a flushing loo and dump point. Thanks Karen & Mal
Although this free site is overnight only, it has so much else going for it. Mother of Ducks Lagoon is located in Guyra, New South Wales.

We managed the road from Hughenden easily with our caravan – it is 75 km north of the town on a fully sealed road. There is a short cut to Prairie, via a dirt road. This is a special national park and the site is aptly names the Pyramid Campground. You’ll see why when you venture down the MANY steps into the canyon below. Bring a picnic, we didn’t but you could have spent all day swimming (chilly!) and birdwatching,
Eight Mile Creek & Birdhide – images courtesy District of Grant Council The Grant District council in SA have changed a day use only in the Port MacDonnell area to camping for self contained vehicles, as well as an extra bonus … The Day Use at Eight Mile Creek is now 72 hour free camping for self contained vehicles.
