Freedom Camp of the Month: Cooee Point Reserve

Our GoRV Freedom Camp of the Month is Cooee Point Reserve in Tasmania. Read the full article here. Please note the correction: you can see views to 180 metre high plateau, Table Cape, Wynyard (we visited the lighthouse and flower farm there) not The Nut at Stanley. Although those views are magnificent, too!

Why WA’s Elephant Cove gave me the scare of my life!

The first time my kids EVER heard me swear was at Elephant Cove, William Bay National Park, in southern WA. This is a beautiful destination. Insta worthy. Jaw dropping and aptly named. Huge monolithic rocks dominate the view as you reach the beach. I treasure all four of our bambinos. It’s the typical arrangement in our family – mum says “be careful” and Dad encourages them to be adventurous. As we lapped around Australia, and grew up surrounded by national park – truth be told I bred four mountain goats. I loved that they were adrenaline junkies, competent swimmers and

Ready for 2024 adventures? The BEST of Australia is right here

We hope you’re ready for some 2024 adventures, but firstly – THANK YOU to all the travellers who wrote in and told us they loved our camping myths! Some had questions, others brought up the self-contained debate and we were told: “It is good to see someone not afraid to print the truths about a lot of the xxxx that is out there. Keep up the good work.” Another traveller, Bruce, used our App and book for a 5-week Streaky Bay to Sydney roadtrip and here are his photos and locations! He told us: “We could not fault the expert

Why visit Shark Bay, Western Australia?

Eagle Bluff Shark Bay World Heritage Area is situated on the Western Australian Coast, it is actually two bays – and it is area you do not want to miss. Situated north of Kalbarri, and south of Carnarvon on the beautiful WA coastline, all of these favourites are accessible with a conventional vehicle: Wild dolphins at Monkey Mia Monkey Mia, probably what we knew the area best for, before our visit. We wanted to check it out and compare it to our very own Tin Can Bay – also known for feeding wild dolphins. It is best to arrive early and

Why we love camping on Straddie, Queensland

Here’s what you need to know for Straddie camping or Minjerribah North Stradbroke Island. We live on the beach, so we tend to camp in the bush. But here is an island we loved. Plus we share why you don’t need a 4WD and where you can bring the dog …  Pet friendly camping on Straddie If you like to travel with a pooch, Flinders Beach and Main Beach are your options for camping – and you will need a 4WD. Our friend’s dog, Bruce, loved it! Facilities are limited and in some zones, there’s nothing provided. Do your research

Experience beach camping at its best!

Only two more weeks until Christmas! I can’t wait for catch-ups with mates and BEACH CAMPING. The table will be full of family – and Christmas treats, including the cocktails (and mocktails) below. One of our favourite beach towns this year is Port Fairy, Vic. Griffiths Island (pictured) has the BEST beach hike – with wildlife, boardwalks and lighthouse. TIP: We stopped at Southcombe Caravan Park and dined at a new bar and eatery, The Sentinel. I soaked up the first live music we’d come across in months of bush travels! Leave time to browse lovely local stores, too. Have
