Late last year we blogged about a host of upgrades that were under way on Kangaroo Island to re-invigorate the area following the devastating bush fires of the previous year.
Those upgrades are now complete at some of Kangaroo Island’s most beautiful spots – D’Estrees Bay and Murray Lagoon – and it’s perfect timing for the school holidays. Located in Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park on the south coast, these secluded spots will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy this peaceful wilderness.
The Murray Lagoon campground has brand new facilities for camper trailers and caravans with 8 sites and a special purpose built area for school groups. It’s the perfect spot for stargazing, and catching some stunning sunrises and sunsets. New additions include camp shelter, gas BBQ, picnic tables, communal fire pits and long drop toilets.
D’Estrees Bay now has 8 campsites suitable for tents, caravans and campervans, including Tea Trees, Big Sand Dune and Wheatsons campgrounds. There is access to the bay and views of the ocean, toilets and picnic shelter.
What are you waiting for? Book online, head to Cape Jervis and catch the ferry and explore stunning Kangaroo Island, in South Australia.
