Bob Cave has been sending me pictures since he was in Queensland, after lots more in NT – he is now in SA and was really impressed with Hancocks Lookout SA site 256 in CAMPS 11.

A spectacular view of Spencers Gulf and the Port Augusta area can be seen from Hancocks Lookout, located at the top of the historic Horrocks Pass, seven kilometres off the road to Port Augusta (coming from Wilimington).

There are large sugar gums and drooping sheoaks which give an indication of the former woodland vegetation.

From the open parking and picnic area sweeping western views can be seen of the Spencer Gulf, Port Bonython, Whyalla, Mount Laura, Middleback Ranges and Dutchmans Stern Range to the north.

Add it to your list, thanks Bob!
