Kings Canyon Resort
Amazing views here! Dingos walking outside the campground and could hear them howl at night. Had to put our shoes away, in case they took them! Amazing sunrise and sunset. One of the most spectacular walks at the Canyon, too. It is a bit pricey, but a five star location! The resorts bars and restaurants, convenience stores and petrol station are available to campground guests.
Dogs are allowed in the campground, however must be kept secure and on a leash at all times.

Kings Creek Station
Situated at the foot of the beautiful George Gill Range, just 36 kilometres from Kings Canyon. A working cattle/camel station and the largest exporter of wild camels in Australia.
Another pricey location, you’ll find this Station stay outside the southeastern corner of the national park. Glamping, the Catherine Springs walk, buggy station tours and helicopter rides are also on offer.
This spectacular free rest area is available for 24 hours only. With breathtaking views, it has a convenient and free location north of Kings Canyon. Fire pits will keep you warm on a cold desert night! Make sure you find out about road conditions on the Mereenie Loop if you are driving this way to Alice Springs and the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Salt Creek Rest Area
Further south, 113 km from Kings Canyon, you’ll find a no frills, shaded BBQ/picnic area. This is a good free overnight spot – large with lots of space and trees. It is always busy. There is definitely room for Big Rigs, but BYO water.
