This route is a must-see with beautiful gorges, indigenous culture, chasm, gap, hole and pits! With a bitumen surface, there are picnic tables and a BBQ, but a patchy mobile reception. It is 24-hours only and pet friendly; BYO drinking water and firewood. You will be rewarded with beautiful views and spectacular sunsets across the Ranges and Mt Sonder. If you are hankering after wide open spaces, then you’ve found it. A perfect overnighter, this is a roadside rest area, but has a large area where you can get away from the road. There are lots of shady sites and plenty of room. The toilets are suitable for people with disabilities and were only upgraded last year. There’s water, a dump point, fireplaces, it is suitable for big rigs and pets, but please note it may be sandy in places and it has a 24-hour limit. All in all, a good stopover in area where there are not too

The Northern Territory is home to an array of mysterious and impressive landforms that aren’t quite like anything you have seen before. Cape Crawford is no exception with it’s waterholes, waterfalls and ancient rock formations such as the ‘lost city’. Little River rest area is located 10 km West of Cape Crawford next to a tranquil river. Although there are minimal facilities, it is a lovely place to stop if you are travelling along the northern cape in a camper or caravan.
