Our first time at Barn Hill Station and we are impressed with this station stay. The unpowered cliff sites or ocean view sites do just that – Indian Ocean views that go on forever! One of the prettiest spots we visited was Arckaringa station in South Australias outback. Here is why we loved it and why we think you will too. Arckaringa station is the closest campground and accommodation to the magnificent painted desert. Just the painted desert road is an amazing one to travel through. The views at the campground are beautiful. You are just looking out to the outback and I was pretty wrapped with what we could see. The Duck Hole at Farnese Olivo – budget site near Hobart, Tasmania

A question I see frequently asked in social media posts is “Are there any free or budget sites near Hobart?” The truth is there aren’t many, one or two plus a couple of caravan parks, though there are more a little further out. So we are very happy to add The Duck Hole at Farnese Olivo to the list! Farnese Olivo is a budget friendly, family hobby farm set on 5 acres overlooking the Coal River Valley in Acton Park. It is only 15 minutes from the Hobart CBD. It is an historic farm dam, offering a quiet rural experience.
