CAMPS team members, Jed and Tyla Elmer know a good camp when they see one! These Camps ‘detectives’ took their young tribe to Gunna Park. This is why they’d go back…
1. Great location
Gunna Park is a fantastic, family-friendly farmstay conveniently located off the highway near Gympie, Southeast Queensland. Far enough away to gain some peace, close enough to towns for supplies.
2. Space!
There is plenty of space between campsites for families to have privacy, even during busy periods. Additionally, there is space for the kids to safely explore and make their own adventures.
3. Free kids activities!
Oh the sweet sound of happy, occupied children, was music to our ears – for free! Gunna Park provides kayaks for use in the dam, multiple playgrounds, discgolf, hammocks, toy library and BMX track. Plus enjoy the free animal feeding session included in your stay.
4. Off farm fun
Local attractions include Dickabram Bridge (see CAW App), where we walked around the bridge area and viewed the interesting historical signage. A visit to Tiaro, just north of camp, where we enjoyed a coffee and a delicious lunch, whilst the kids made use of the playground. Another lovely spot to take the children is Mothar Mountain Rock Pools, only 50 km south of camp.
5. Value for money
Taking the family on holiday can be pricey these days, but this trip was a budget winner! So many free activities to amuse the children, in and around camp that our wallet, as well as our hearts and minds, were happy!
Gunna Park is not just for families, they even offer a ‘Grinch site’ which is a quiet area away from the general area, for added peace!
