Greenly Beach, SA Image courtesy Overland Exposure There are many lovely sites on the Lower Eyre Peninsula in SA like Drummond Point, Fishery Bay and Greenly Beach and our three new additions will give you even more to explore.   Frenchmans North is a 4WD only site for tents and camper trailers on the Western Shore 65 km from Port Lincoln. Likewise with Frenchmans South that has 10 unpowered sites, both at $5 per night – no facilities but will provide you with some stunning views and rocky cliffs. Further south at Kellidie Bay is Seal Corner also $5 per night.

Budget and waterside camp: Second Creek Beach, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia

Our ambassadors Manda and Daniel thought this was a great small camp. There was only room for three or four sites. It is a flat site and there is a boat ramp (with 4WD access) and toilets, too! Payment is available onsite with an honesty box, but there are no bookings. You can swim, fish and bring your pet. There is a low ocean swell here because of the Islands of the Sir Joseph Banks Group, so no need to bring a surfboard! The CMCA have opened their second park in South Australia, this one at Port Pirie.  It’s located within the grounds of the Port Football and Community Club on the corner of Wandearah and Esmond Roads. For those travelling the Limestone Coast in South Australia, the Bellum Hotel at Mount Schank in SA is always happy to offer free camping. Located 12 km south of Mount Gambier on the Riddoch Highway (aka Bay Road); halfway between Mount Gambier and Port MacDonnell. The hotel is near the base of the Mount Schank volcanic crater and very close to Little Blue and Kilsby Sinkhole. Pet friendly, free camping is on the grassed area on the southern side of the hotel.
