TOP 25 BEST OF VIC, NSW and SA trip!

Here’s our “Top 25 Best of”.  All our favourites, yes we are biased this is our opinion – not best in the state – just best of our 4 month trip. We also saw a bit of ACT and QLD.

So 4 months, 5 states/territory and 16,000 km – not sure how many towns or national parks as yet! Here they are:

1. Winery – Chambers Rosewood Winery and Vineyard, Rutherglen, VIC. Pictured above – and you can try out their yummy  (but unusual) cocktail!
2. Town – Carcoar, NSW and Robe, SA
3. Most RV Friendly Town – Karoonda, SA
4. Hikes – Cape Bridgewater, VIC to see seals, you can also walk to the Petrified Wood Forest (Heatley favourite) and Griffith Island/Port Fairy Lighthouse, VIC
5. Lighthouse – Cape Otway, VIC
6. Silo – Karoonda, SA and Devenish, VIC
7. Foodie Town – Mildura VIC – Larrys Prosciutto, Tik Tek
8. Pub – Toolleen, VIC, Beachport SA, Pooncarie NSW, Crown Hotel, Wentworth, NSW
9. Most surprising camp – Alex Trevallion Park, Walgett – Brewarrina also great spots!
10. Waterfall – Woolshed Falls, Beechworth, VIC + Hopkins Falls, VIC near Warnambool
11. Worst Road – Coolah Tops, NSW and Mt Oxley Rossmore Station, NSW (but they did have the BEST views!)
12. Museum – Millicent SA – located at the Information Centre
13. Favourite Big Thing – Stanley the Emu, Lightning Ridge, NSW
14. Best Caravan Park – Southern Ocean Tourist Park, Beachport, SA
15. Best Taste Testing – Billsons Brewery UDLs, Beechworth, VIC
16. Best Drive – Great Ocean Road, VIC
17. Historical Site – Stringybark Creek, VIC
18. Market – Castlemaine Farmers Market, VIC
19. Trivia – Amber’s Trivia, Dinner Plain Hotel, VIC
20. Coffee – Stone’s Throw, Walgett, NSW
21. Burger – Karoonda Hotel, SA
22. Strawberry Lamington – Leitchville, VIC (See it and the freedom camp!)
23. Hot Spa – Goodooga, Lightning Ridge NSW (There’s a photo in this article!)
24. Slippery Dip – Vaughn Springs, VIC
25. Best and worst fuel (diesel) prices ranged from $1.79- $2.36
