This is a great camp in an interesting historical area. There are three designated campsites – one below the dam wall and two to the west of the dam.
It is rugged country, but some level sites are available near the dam. Toilets, BBQ, picnic table, dump point and fireplaces are on site. BYO firewood and bring water in case the dam is empty. Big rig and pet friendly.
Built in 1897, the dam wall is 225 metres across and 18 metres high – you can learn about the story of the construction. One of the stops on the Golden West Discovery Trail, you’ll find some interesting walks and how the dam was named.
Niagara Dam is 60 km north east of Menzies, via Kookynie Road and Niagara Dam Road.
This is WA site 355 in CAMPS 10 or if you have our CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App as well – simply go to the map or list and search with the site name!
