Wunghnu Rec Reserve has been reopened by Moira Shire Council. It is a free 48 hour RV stop on the Goulburn Valley Highway. Locally, visitors can check out the Moira Miniature Rail, enjoy a coffee or meal at the local cafe or spot the singular ewe on Australia’s first reinforced concrete water tower.
Moira Shire is a beauty, bordered by the Murray River! You can explore the silo art trail like we did or stop at one of many waterside free camps, like these:
RV Friendly overnight camps are also available at:
- Forges Beach No 1 and No 2, downstream from Yarrawonga
- Kyffins Reserve, Mulwala
- Barmah Lakes Camping Area, Barmah National Park
- The Killawarra Camp, Warby Ovens National Park
- Lower Ovens Wildlife Reserve, Bundalong
- Lions Park, Numurkah
- Lions Park,Tungamah
Council also list all the RV day parking and water points.
It is wonderful to see a council who recognise that understanding the needs of RV travellers and that establishing freedom camps in their region is a sound investment in tourism.
As well as camps, you will also find all the dump points listed in the CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App.
