David from Happy Campers NQ sharing travel tips outdoors in Western Australia
Horrocks Beach, Western Australia

Big thanks to David sharing his lap roadtrip and photos as well as a tip for Western Australia national parks…

“Keep up the good work guys – used our latest version to find camping areas in WA last year.

“We started our trip from NQ through to Ayers Rock, Laverton, Geraldton, Broome, Derby, Katherine, Camooweal, Atherton, Mission Beach.

“We used our Camp Book throughout our whole trip, free camps, water points, distances between towns alike.”

TIP

“Little information with mobile phones, in WA it pays to have both Telstra and Optus as the booking of National Parks.
We were told by locals that Optus seemed to work better when booking sites.”

FAVOURITE PLACES

“All together 16,000 km including the famous Gibb River Road, Ord River Sunset River Cruise.”

“That photo was taken on our sunset boat ride on the Ord River Cruise with JJ TOURS in their new fast boat 50 persons on board with 3 xV8 Yamaha outboards full noise. What a great tour. A must do on the Bucket List.”

“Tunnel Creek … is on the road between Fitzroy Crossing connecting to the Gibb River Road. Yes, there is some deep wading/swimming to the other end also you need a very strong LED Head lamp to see where you are going.

“Margaret has been working in the Mission Beach School tuckshop for seven odd years on a voluntary basis.

“The other voluntary ladies decided to give Margaret a send off surprise from the school to us after we arrived in Geraldton as they insisted we stay put for 7-10 days and the address where were.

“This is what they sent us and demanded we send photos at our next camp, [which] was Horrocks Beach, WA. Yes, this was a magic little beach camp from which this photo was taken. Hence the name HAPPY CAMPERS NQ.”
