As well as perfect swimming and walking locations, caravan parks galore and two RV parks, now there’s lots more eateries to choose from in beautiful Hervey Bay!

Hervey Bay has a Boat Club and an RSL but here are three options in walking distance to Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park.

Picture Perfect! A stunning location, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast and watched people walking and swimming. The venue is licensed and can’t you just imagine yourself relaxing waterside? It is also next door to a playground – which is a bonus for families.

We attended Melbourne Cup upstairs – and didn’t they put on a show! The food was delicious. Almost as good as the pizza our group inhaled downstairs. So well presented and friendly staff, I will be back!

Eat at Dan and Stephs, Torquay

What a treat! I have visited Dan and Steph’s years back and they are just as good now! I really love an all day breakfast menu, especially when it means I can taste tacos for brekky! But I could have chosen pizza, Mexican chicken bowl, pork belly or sweet potato rosti.

The menu is so different, my tacos included beef brisket, pickled onions, and slaw! It was mouthwatering. So was the Ruby Tuesday juice.

Our crew sampled cornbread, french toast, and a special Danny Benny – with Italian pork sausage, sweet potato croquettes and salsa verde! It was his sausages that people knew Dan for in My Kitchen Rules. Just sensational, Dan!

When it’s time to work off your meals, find the historic Urangan Pier – at almost one kilometre, it’s one of the longest in Australia. Be rewarded with a great view of town and you may see fish, rays and dolphins. Perfect for fishing, too!

A shorter stroll is Tom’s walk in Scarness – a lovely boardwalk, with seating and views in memory of a young resident.

The pier is 5 km and Torquay is 2 km from Scarness.

If you have kids in tow, bring their togs for the free Wetside Water Park (check opening times) – or let them burn off some energy in the playgrounds along the foreshore.

Make sure you spot the big whale tail!

Find all the caravan parks in Caravan Parks 5 and RV parks in CAMPS 11. All the sites are in the new CAMPS Pendium, Travel Packs and Camps Australia Wide App.
