CAMPS Ambassadors Daniel and Manda from Overland Exposure loved a pub camp in the Northern Territory.
They said, “Darwin River Tavern has an awesome unpowered camping area available. We used this as our base for a night to visit Berry Springs and had a great stay for just $10/night.”
“If you camp here add another night or two and visit the Territory Wildlife Park, we really loved visiting when we lived in Darwin and highly recommend stopping in.”
“This is such an awesome camp – at a Tavern so there’s meals and drinks and live music, a bottle-o, little shop and fuel, amenities, a pool…
…FREE washing machines, water fill up and a croc (YES, REALLY) and some animals for the kids!”
and some animals for the kids!”
“You can pick your own spot so it suits individuals or groups and all for $10/night!! You honestly can’t go wrong!”
We stopped here, too, for a yummy lunch after Litchfield waterfall hopping and to check out the campground.
Serves were very generous…
Huge, grassy sites were located well behind the pub amongst trees.
Loads of cabins are onsite, and the amenities block looked brand new!
There’s a supermarket and fuel available and here’s a photo from out the front of the hotel.
I really did love the craftmanship in the timber tables.
The pool was almost complete when we were there in March.
My photo of the crocodile was not as good as Daniel’s!
