Just 14 km west of Charlton in Victoria stop into Wooroonook Lakes for peace and quiet on the shores of the lake, with amazing water views.Â
Good walking and water access. The excellent facilities include 10 powered sites, a recently updated amenities block, BBQ, playground and a pontoon. They offer weekly rates.
Wildlife is diverse around the lakes with numerous bird species, grey kangaroos, swamp wallabies, brush tail possums and native water rats. Bring your rods – the lake is stocked regularly with fish for recreational fishing.
And the verdict? “Our camp for tonight. Great new facilities, $ 15 powered, $5 unpowered. Near Donald, Victoria. Gorgeous spot except today the wind is blustery and freezing.” Thanks Wilma Green for your words and photos!
Wilma also recommends the silo art at Sheep Hills, just 76 km to the west of the campground.
