CAMPS Researcher, Graham Gardiner was very impressed with the quality of this free camp, and wanted to say, “Thank you Kambalda and to the friendly council ranger who welcomed us”.
It is a find for any family – with BBQ, covered playground, free tennis court, skatepark and sports field close by.
This town has fantastic facilities left over from the past mining boom – with squash courts, sports complex, library, supermarket and more.
He said, it is not too far to walk to toilets, and showers are available for a small fee at the Recreation Centre, during opening hours.
This is a pleasant, peaceful, shady camp in a lovely town to explore, Kambalda mine is close to the town and the inland lake is nearby.
The parking area is at Kambalda West, behind the Recreation Centre off Barnes Drive. Self-contained vehicles are preferred.
