Oh, my goodness! Check out this swimmingly enticing free camp!

Almost halfway between Murchison Roadhouse and Gascoyne Junction you come across a Western Australian oasis.

As you are travelling along the Carnarvon Mullewa Road, turn west just south of Bilung Creek, and follow a track about 200 metres to the pool.

Not quite a lake, but this natural water feature has year round water with BBQ and picnic facilities. It is pet friendly, there is shade, firepits and it is BYO everything!

Access this remote spot in dry weather only – and don’t expect any mobile phone coverage.

CAMPS Ambassadors Dale and Tracey took these beautiful photos and video and said: “Great spot! You can swim here. Plenty of space for camping. No facilities. Leave the gate as you find it.”

As an added bonus, 5 km south of here, you’ll find the Wooramel River Gorges. Follow the signpost for glorious views on the inland river system.
