Pre-book for Jardine Station, Queensland

This pet friendly Station Stay is 20 km north of Einasleigh or 25 km S of the highway – simply check out Qld site 338 in CAMPS 11 or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App.

It is suitable for all vehicles and camping, including Big Rigs, with accessible amenities.

Jardine Station is a working cattle station along the Einasleigh River. There are opportunities at certain times to see cattle being walked in from the paddock and worked through cattle yards.

Lagoon camp is along the banks of the historical Jardine Lagoon, the site the Jardine Brothers camped the first night they walked cattle from Carpentaria Station to Cape York in 1864.

There are toilets and showers at this site. The river is about a 500 m walk, it is rocky with small streams and waterholes, so good for exploring.

Other sites are a ten minute drive, and closer the water.

Beach Camp is a pretty spot  – shady and sandy – that slopes down to a shallow river waterhole. Good for little children.

Ellendale Hole is a big water hole in the river. Good for swimming, kayaking, fishing and exploring. Bush camping here is above the waterhole with a short walk to water.

Einasleigh township is 20 km south of Historical Einasleigh Hotel and picturesque Cooperfield Gorge. Expect a dirt road to this remote location, the GPS location is on the road and Jardine Lagoon, with 3 km to The Beach and Ellendale Hole. Make sure you pre-book for river camping.
