Nestled beside the beautiful Severn River in Northern NSW is our newest campsite. Fernlee Station is a working cattle, kelpie, and Waler horse stud set amid the picturesque hills of Ashford.
They welcome caravans, RVs, camper trailers, and tents as long as you are fully self-contained and self-sufficient.
This campsite offers a guarantee of peace and tranquility as it is set along 7km river frontage. The unique feature of this camp is that only three sites are on offer and the sites are located far enough from each other – consequently, you will have complete privacy during your stay. As a way of giving back to Aussie heroes they also offer free camping to current and past DFA Members and First responders.
Campers must stay within the designated camping area whilst on the property. There are sandstone firepits here and the owners can arrange firewood. You must have your own toilet, please respect nature and leave no trace, take all rubbish when you leave. Generators are also permitted, so you can still have some creature comforts.
What to do here?
The river is excellent for Murray Cod, Yellow Belly, and Catfish, but the hosts request that you only catch and release. It’s the perfect spot for kayaking, swimming, and boating and has small rapids in some areas.
Fernlee is located only 10km from Pindari Dam, well known for all water-based activities.
Pindari Adventure Park is also 10km away, which the kids will love.
The campsite is 25km from Macintyre Falls and the Kwiambal National Parks which has a number of beautiful walks to enjoy.
Ben Falls, Goat Rock, Reedy Creek Winery, and Zappers Winery are all close by as well.
You’ll find Fernlee on our Camps Australia Wide app.
