If you find yourself on the Kamilaroi Hwy heading south from Gunnedah, pop in and say hello to new owners Ann and Mick at the Imperial Hotel in Henry Street, Quirindi.
Nestled In this beautiful district in northern NSW, the Imperial is a traditional country hotel offering old fashioned pub meals, a yarn or two from the locals and we hear that the food is excellent. On a hot day, there’s a cool beer garden to relax in and the hotel is close to the centre of town, bowling club, swimming pool and tennis courts.
Owners Ann and Mick Howlett welcome all travellers and if you are self-contained you can park your rig for free in the grassy area at the rear (but please patronise the hotel).
If you do find you need to use their facilities, there’s a small charge for that. Pets are welcome on lead but not in the Hotel. Please book ahead to let them know you are coming. There’s live music most weekends and coming up is ‘Country Music till Australia Day’.
In February the town hosts the Quirindi Rodeo, a spectacular show of bronco and trick riding. There’s vast fields of sunflowers from December through March, and you can visit the Quirindi Spring Show during September.
It’s 50 minutes drive from Tamworth and a little over four hours from Sydney. Come and stay, enjoy a meal and a cold drink at the Imperial Hotel and soak up the historic atmosphere, striking landscapes and intriguing heritage of Quirindi.
You’ll find this great new country pub camp on our Camps Australia Wide App.Â
