If you haven’t been to Theebine, then you should!
Update: We were back again, last weekend for the opening of the new deck at Theebine Hotel. What a night, and I slept like a baby in the van. Check out the photos on our socials!
We visited last September, met the publican, some CAMPS fans (thanks Jeanette and friends) and said hi to the local councillor, Cr Dolly Jensen and had a lovely relaxed lunch!
Since then, the Mary River flooded and has caused dreadful damage to the area. So, I’d say, they need your support even more!
Theebine hotel has a new owner, Jackson. He said it has been busy – there’s a free camp area out the back for campers.
They’ve had up to 43 vans parked out the front, too!
After a drink on the front verandah, we enjoyed our meal in the beer garden
I indulged in crumbed lamb cutlets. We were so full, we had cheese and crackers for dinner at another free camp, nearby historic Dickabram Bridge.
Dolly told us about the origin of the hotel sign, and how important the link was with locals and local history.
PS power ($) pet friendly and room for big rigs. We found out there is no time limit or wifi, this was updated in the the Camps Australia Wide App.
