Many showground campgrounds are located on the outskirts of town – with beautiful scenery, wide open spaces and excellent facilities. However, it also means you need to get back in the RV or car if you want a night out.
Widgee Showgrounds in the Gympie Region north of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has the benefit of both – lovely, grassy, spacious grounds with the added bonus of an onsite club.
The Bushman’s Bar is only open Friday and Saturday nights – with limited times for meals.
It is all volunteer run, and the grounds can be closed for events or group bookings. Camping is limited to 72 hours only. Pets are allowed, but not in the bar area.
