Over the holidays, we read the plea for an Aussie owned, independent App for free and budget sites. The traveller was worried these sites were being removed or changed into day use areas in another App.
Well, there is – the Camps Australia Wide App actually predates others, and has led the way from 2011. Unlike others, each site is verified before it goes live – so you don’t end up with duplicate sites, it includes live fuel pricing, gas bottle refills and swap outlets (with another family owned business gasbottlerefills.com), dump points, tourist info centres…
Plus you can tell on the map symbols what type of camp site it is e.g. showgrounds, national parks, state forests/nature reserves, pub stays, RV parks, farm and station stays, other budget sites, other free and donation sites, and caravan parks! At CAMPS we are all about choice.
Might I add, CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE has been listing camps, caravan parks and dump points long before any App! And showgrounds, farm stays or pub camping well before Facebook groups existed.
