Bruce Mcguffie shared his scenic stop at Starvation Bay, 50 km east of Hopetoun, WA, with 40 km dirt road, accessible by conventional vehicles.
It is pet friendly, budget priced, with toilets, mobile coverage, BBQ, firepits, boat ramp – AND fishing! So you can catch your supper! As you can see there is plenty of room for Big Rigs.
Both Starvation Bay and nearby Mason Bay campgrounds have been upgraded to provide more camp sites and toilet facilities for camp goers. There is also a dump point located at both campgrounds. Mason Bay is 40km E of Hopetoun, via Springdale Rd, with 30 km of dirt road.
These popular family friendly campgrounds are on the Southern Ocean road, in the Fitzgerald Biosphere Coast, and dogs must be kept on leads. Camp fires are permitted within the fire rings located at each site except during periods when a total fire ban has been declared.
It is first in, best choice and there are no bookings at these pristine coastline sites. Generators are allowed, and BYO drinking water and exact cash. Sites are $15 per night per site (you need the correct amount to place in their envelopes). Mid-November to April you’ll find a Camp Host manages both sites.
