Gotta love a donation camp with a hot shower! At Leitchville Traveller’s Rest, there are also toilets, water, BBQ and picnic area and a pool next door. Additionally, the shower is suitable for people with disabilities.

This awesome little free camp is just across the road from the main street. As well as the bakery, you’ll find a butcher, IGA supermarket and hotel.
Locals were very friendly. We had the tip that the toasties from the bakery were also first-rate. They said to bring your appetite for the generous hotel meals.

It looks like this is a popular spot with CAMPS travellers, too! They said the meals at the pub across the road were excellent. Into the bargain, it boasts the coldest beer in Northern Victoria!
Interestingly, Leitchville is where Kraft Cheese, and then Murray Goulburn had a factory. The main industry is still dairying. You can read about the other local ventures – including viticulture at the camp.
Located 50 km north west of Echuca and 16 km south east of Cohuna in the Gannawarra region of Victoria. Cohuna has another great freedom camp – on the water. You can tour nearby to the:
- Murray River
- Kow Swamp
- Gunbower Creek
