Traveller John Missen recommends Getaway Tourist Park, situated on the Newell Highway at Coonabarabran in NSW.
He said, “It is a great place to stay to explore, among other things, the Warrumbungles (volcanic mountain peaks) and also the Siding Springs Observatory. The observatory houses a large astronomical telescope surrounded by a viewing floor.”
Pet friendly, it is NSW site 125 in Caravan Parks 5, or find it on the Camps Australia Wide App. The park has a dump point, pool, playground and BBQs.
