This is a special find in the hills overlooking Tasmania’s picturesque Derwent Valley. Heimat Chalets and Motorhome site is a Farmstay that is quite unique. Although only 40 minutes from Hobart, it’s easy to believe you are a million miles away. This 100 acre farm and bushland retreat offers two self contained chalets and two luxury motorhome ensuite sites.

You’ll have your own private ensuite next to your vehicle, (pictured below) powered sites, dining room and fire pit, camp kitchen, playground and laundry facilities. They even offer free wifi.

Your welcoming hosts Katy and Bill invite you to share in the animal feeding every day with their Scottish highland cattle, ponies, alpacas, sheep, chickens, miniature donkey and goat. This destination comes highly recommended as we’ve heard lovely reviews from campers.

Located off the Gordon River Road out of New Norfolk, this secret hideaway is the perfect base for you to venture out and explore the stunning countryside. Visit the waterfalls in Mount Field National Park, go trout fishing or feed the fish at Salmon Ponds. Visit Hobart, or Bonorong wildlife sanctuary or the Gordon Dam.
