If you are after lush, tropical surrounds – then point your van towards Hastings Point, in northern NSW. Not only is there pool and playgrounds, but the park comes with waterslides!
North Star (NSW site 239 in Caravan Parks 5) is a multi-award-winning Resort on the spectacular Tweed Coast, just 30 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and 30 minutes north of Byron Bay. Please note: this is not for pets as well.
There’s a cafe/restaurant onsite, disabled facilities, BBQ and outdoor BBQ area, mobile phone coverage and wifi, dump point and camp kitchen with indoor and outdoor seating. Other accomodation is available on site.
For the kids, you won’t be able to get them away from Sammy’s Adventure Lagoon water park and the FREE Neptune’s Castle Kids’ Club (fully supervised on weekends and school holidays). Then there is FREE tennis! The games room has pool tables, air hockey tables, table tennis, pinball TV and library.
Surrounded by national parkland, North Star spreads over 10 hectares of manicured, sub-tropical gardens with palms, pools and playgrounds, even a day spa for the adults!
Fuel up at the onsite service station, it has gas bottle refills too. nestled between a pristine beach across the road and crystal clear tidal estuary.

Having grown up on the beautiful Tweed coast, this end has always been quieter – there is loads to explore around here: so many beaches, inlets to paddle in, picnic grounds, or explore the hinterland of Cudgen and try some tropical fruit, the new vibe and restaurants at Salt and Kingscliff, visit historic Murwillumbah, sugar cane mill and farming around Condong, as well as the Tweed River. Pottsville Creek and the picnic grounds on the southern entry to Kingscliff are my personal favourites!
