Have you been to Brooms Head on the NSW North Coast? What a beautiful location, and only 20 minutes drive from the Pacific Highway!
Brooms Head Holiday Park has room for Big Rigs, there’s a playground and boat ramp – a great spot for fishing and swimming. And as you can see from the video below – magical views! You just can’t get any closer to the beach – choose from spacious hilltop cabins, beachfront camping and van sites.
The park was pet friendly in low season, but it is now pet free. With five amenities blocks, cabins and villas, large sites for RVs. There is also wheelchair access and a ‘mobility cabin’.
Whether you are a family, surfer or fisher – this hideaway near Yuragir National Park is worth seeking out.
And how did the name arise? It is all because a broom washed up on the beach – thought to be from a wreck of the schooner Eureka around 1870.
Previously called Cakora Point, locals know it as “The Broom”.
Here’s what our travellers said about Brooms Head:
Shhh, ya not supposed to tell people about this spot lol. Did you bounce down the track to see Sandon as well? Watch for roos, emus and the occasional snake, but most of all the sand flies at Sandon!
Great place. Beautiful in fact.
Been camping in the National Park there for years and walk along the beach to Brooms Head and back.
Sadly no longer pet friendly. It certainly is a beautiful place and has to be one of my favourites. I have little canines I travel with. Maybe one day again…
