Explore these Aussie outback camping gems

I’m writing from chilly Canberra in the ACT – a bit of a contrast to my Rainbow Beach walk in Queensland a few days ago. Down here to help family, I’ve been awed by sunset on Parliament House, The Eagle (the Australian American Memorial), local war history as well as their beautiful winter trees and leaves.

Today we take you to every state and territory. These outback gems include a Queensland farm stay in an abandoned town, a budget SA camp and magnificent WA National Park. There’s free camping at a NSW outpost and Victorian Mallee pub, with a glimpse at a remote Tassie road trip and enlightening experience at an NT icon.
