Free camp beside a Tassie canyon at Leven Canyon Reserve

What a site! Just a short walk from this free, pet-friendly campground at Leven Canyon Reserve is a lookout 275m above the river! On arrival, we saw the day use area below the carpark – the elevated campground is quite sloped, but there were still flat locations to set up camp. Lilydale Falls Reserve – North East Tasmania

Travel_and_tassie via Instagram While heading off on an early morning trip towards the Meander Valley, it was an opportunity to stop at the Lilydale Falls Reserve about 25 km east of Launceston, just on the outskirts of the village of Lilydale. The spot is popular for a picnic, to camp or for bushwalking. Oceanfront FREE CAMP: Green Point Beach, Marrawah, Tasmania

Here is a beautiful coastal campsite in the rugged west coast of Tasmania. It is free, pet friendly and protected from the wind. Metres down the road, you’re at the beach! The park here has toilets, cold showers, a playground, sheltered BBQ and picnic tables right over the beach with AMAZING views. There are more picnic tables in the camp area (see the video below). If you are looking for scenery, this is your spot. There’s good camping, fishing, swimming, surfing and diving, as well as wonderful views across Great Oyster Bay to Freycinet Peninsula. 2 new Pubstays in Tassie

Today we listed two new campsites at beautiful Tullah in Tasmania. Both are pubstays and within close proximity to each other. Tullah Lakeside Lodge This pub stay is right on the banks of Lake Rosebery. They offer camping for Caravans, RVs and camper trailers, with power, water and shared amenities. However, the base is hard gravel. This means you won’t pitch a tent here, but you can always stay in the lodge just for the serenity and views. Petal Point – free camp at this remote Tassie Getaway

Photo credit No Boundaries Petal Point is a primitive camp situated high on an escarpment looking north across Bass Strait. Situated in the less travelled north east corner of Tasmania, we loved it because of its remoteness and panoramic views. At Petal Point, you need to be fully self-contained, take all your supplies in and take any evidence of your stay out. We settled in to the silence easily – only interruption was the ocean waves, sea breezes and the Mozart we belted out around the campfire at sunset – a luxury afforded because we were the only camping residents

The Historic Weldborough Hotel has long been a favourite for campers, now with an added bonus – they recently switched from paid to free camping! Originally built in 1876, the hotel and campground is nestled in the unspoilt majestic rainforest area of North East Tasmania at the bottom of the Blue Tier Mountain bike trails.
