How many free camps have a swimming pool? It is appreciation plus for the townsfolk of Branxholm for this gem.
Look up TAS site 15 in CAMPS 10 or if you have our CAMPS AUSTRALIA WIDE App as well – simply go to the map or list and search for the site name!
Here you have disabled facilities including showers, laundry, picnic tables, drinking water and mobile reception. Plus it is right beside the swimming pool (may even have free entry), playground and tennis court. No pets allowed.
There’s a great pub, pizza joint and IGA across the road. The ground is flat, suitable for a tent as well as RVs, free non-powered sites and you can stay seven days (fees for laundry and hot showers). What more could you want?
Except for Total Fire Ban periods, solid fuel fires are permitted – but only in off-the-ground fire pots/stoves. BYO fire pot and wood/fuel.
The Branxholm Centenary Park is managed in partnership between Dorset Council and the Branxholm Hall and Reserves Committee.
Look for their homemade meat pies at the cafe – and take the river walk – you could spot a platypus.
You’ll find it at 3 Scott Street, Branxholm is in the north east corner of Tasmania.
