After a low-key two and a half years, the Barrow Creek Hotel has been able to revitalise and offer meals and a place to stay to the weary traveller between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
This welcoming roadhouse charges a small fee for unpowered pet-friendly sites at the side of the pub with use of amenities, and a bit extra for power.
For a real Aussie outback experience, stop in at the roadhouse, enjoy a meal and support this long-time local business. The pub itself is almost 90 years old, with the owner, Les, operating it for the last 34 years! The pub has real character as well as a spectacular sunset view.
The old telegraph station next door is also worth the short walk to explore.
