Liza, from Valdara Rustic Farmstay near Beaufort, Victoria, said, “There are TWO very exciting new projects that commenced during Covid.”
The Pyrenees Farm Gate TrailÂ
The Pyrenees is a region well known for its great wines. Take the time to explore all that the Pyrenees Farm Gate Trail has to offer.
Said Liza, “This is a self drive farm gate trail that includes wineries, artists, produce and crafts.”
Drive through this special region, explore and find pottery, art and plenty of cellar doors!

Come learn about the Man Who Invented Vegemite! “At the moment the museum is only open on the fourth Saturday of each month, 10am to 2pm,” said Liz.
However, “Plans are under way to create a permanent museum in Beaufort, the inventor Cyril Callister was born in Chute, here in the Pyrenees.” Groups are also welcome.
The pop up museum showcases his life and achievements – there are plans to preserve the historic Callister family home in Chute, also.
Other attractions in the gorgeous Pyrenees region include:
- Explore Beaufort
- Day walks around Mount Buangor State Park
- Avoca Pub
- Aradale Ghost Tours
- Avoca and Beaufort Markets
- Mt Cole
- Cave Hill Creek
- Lake Goldsmith (Goods Shed Museum and Visitor Centre)
