This is a famous corn beef and white sauce pie from Ed’s Beach Bakery at Rainbow Beach. So famous, in fact it was recently listed as No. 1 for Top Ten Pies around Australia, by Creek to Coast.
It just happens to be my favourite pie, at our local bakery. I don’t eat a pie very often – when I do have a urge for one, this is where I go!

Jetty Road Bakehouse in Wallaroo, SA does THE BEST chicken and leek pie.
The most delicious pies are at Blinman in the Flinders Ranges.

Hayden’s Pies are delicious, located on the highway in Ulladulla.
The bakery in Deepwater NSW. I can usually smash two pies, but not these ones.
By far the best Blakeney’s Pies, Melbourne Street, East Maitland.
Don’t forget Brunswick Bakery and Heather-Braes at Newcastle.
Woodburn … second pie shop heading north to south – they are the best.

In 2 1/2 years travelling around Australia the Prairie Hotel inland from Mackay – hands down.
Blackbutt Bakery – try a Lamb and Rosemary pie they are the ducks nuts.

Local’s tip: If you do try a pie from Ed’s Beach Bakery in Rainbow Beach – ask them for a frozen family pie. They are very economical and delicious – make sure you have an oven!
