Happy Easter to you and yours – are you camping?

Yallingup Area by CAMPS Ambassadors, Overland Exposure Have you already started nibbling bunnies and eggs? I have asked Heatley to hide them – far, far away! He’s happy – he’s found candy eggs from Pittsworth and the rest are safely stashed until Easter Sunday. I do wish I hadn’t tried the little Kat Kat bunnies, though – very more-ish! And so are the two recipes we’ve included – one for Good Friday and an Easter treat below.  On top of that, we talk egg-citing Easter events (at one of the biggest woolsheds in the country and an historic high country

Dinner Plain Polo and Easter weekend fun in the High Country, Victoria

Courtesy Castran and Dinner Plain Polo We are just back from Dinner Plain in Victoria and I want to go back for their awesome Easter events: live music, egg hunt, music trivia, scavenger hunt, Omeo Rodeo and polo at Cobungra Station… Courtesy Castran and Dinner Plain Polo In fact, it would be bucket list material for us to get to what they say is Australia’s longest ever running polo event, with a 34 year history. The Save the Bilby Fund has been working hard on the breeding facility in Charleville and they have produced over 50 babies in the last couple of years. Image from Save

Fire Pit
Camping

I hope the Easter Bunny hopped to your home last weekend?

Heatley and I have been on a ‘reboot’, and Easter Sunday marked the end of two months of eating changes and fitness fun. Who’d have thought we could get through the COVID crisis so far without alcohol or the caravan? So with the world turning topsy turvy, and even our ANZAC ceremonies are affected – like many camping families, we have installed a fire-pit at home.  We are extra grateful to return to ‘normal’ Easter traditions: the chocolate bunny and candy egg, a beverage or two by the fire – and we’re telling the kids, it’s almost as good as camping! We have received
