Thank you Viv for this review of WA site 216 in Camps 10, or find it on our Camps Australia Wide App!
In WA … off the Albany highway, between Cranbrook and Mt Barker, is Kendenup, at the sporting grounds.
There is power and unpowered sites, very good toilets and showers. Near new.
Water there, dogs welcome. Bins.
About 3 km out of Kendenup itself, where there a store/post office/minimum selections of wines and beers/ice.
Cost $10Â for unpowered site and $15Â per night. No booking. First in first served.
You need to call caretakers, which is on the board at the front of the entrance of grounds to get powered unlocked.
Excellent bush camp. 5 star for a little camp site. Clean and just awesome.
The money collected from campers is going towards a camp kitchen in time for backpackers.
We talk of this camp site many times. The caretakers, who are volunteers, have a wealth of information about the town and surrounding area. They were friendly, and over the top helpful. Great people.
Suitable for tents – big rigs. I think there was about 15 sites in total.
We have Camps #9 and we would have been lost without. Considered our “bible”.
Excellent book. Well done in putting it together.

A big thanks to Murray Wallinger from the Kendenup Nature Based Camp Ground  for these images. This site was known as Kendenup Agricultural Grounds in the the books and App.
