Whitsunday Regional Council have just announced the development of the recreational facilities at beautiful Lake Proserpine to include a campground. Land has been cleared just south of the boat ramp and picnic area with 72 hour free camping for self contained vehicles.

Campers that are not self contained can use the toilets and amenities block north of the camping area until facilities are constructed.

Council have done up the nearby toilets blocks and showers, and two wash bays for vehicles will be going in. Works on access upgrades and the construction of three pontoons are also on track for completion before Christmas.
