After Lake Clarendon Reserve closed due to Covid restrictions – it is now all open and operational again.
Provided by the Lockyer Valley Regional Council, this pet friendly site has a 48 hour limit, accessible eco toilet, BBQs and picnic tables/shade shelter. There is mobile coverage, and some shade.
The dam supplies water to the Central Lockyer Irrigation Scheme, and is currently very low. Please note, there are frequent closures when the dam levels become unsuitable for recreation.
You’ll be able to relax to beautiful sunsets here, and there is a walking trail adjacent to the dam wall for bird watching.
You can fish, canoe and kayak. However, there is no swimming, motorised boating or camping at Lake Clarendon and to protect the riparian areas around the lake, paddlecraft are only to be operated from the designated launch point.
Home to local wildlife, ensure all your hooks, fishing lines and other rubbish are binned. The site is surrounded by private property – please be courteous to neighbours and only use the signed, designated recreation areas around the lake.
It is located north west of Gatton, Queensland – find this free site on the #campsaustraliawideapp
