I first visited Scotts Head as a kid! I remember the huge picnic area and beautiful beach for big family gatherings. Next up, as a teen with my cousin from Macksville, to soak up the sun. But I haven’t been back, judging by my sister’s recent visit – I’ll have to!
She shared photos of Scotts Head Reflections Holiday Parks. A great caravan park for families, it is just a few steps to the beach, and pet friendly during off peak times…
As well as regular amenities – they have easy access cabins, huge enclosed camp kitchen, school holiday activities and a boat ramp.
In warmer times of the year – there are gentle waves for kids – but it is also a popular spot for surfers!
You’ll find this park an hour’s drive south of Coffs Harbour, at the bottom of the Nambucca Shire.
The town itself is a delight! My sister was tempted to take her kayak out – it was so flat! This tiny coastal village is a beaut place to swim, snorkel and normally – surf. Rock fishing and beach fishing are also fabulous here.
You might spot a whale from the headland between Big and Little Beach, try four wheel drive tracks around Yarriabini national park and Yarrahapinni Mountain. Scotts Head has cafes and a bowling club.
Whilst you are here, RV Friendly Macksville has wonderful options for camping, right on the Nambucca River. As well as national parks, there are many caravan parks around here and beautiful Nambucca Heads, as well as camping at the local bowlo and council run Gumma Reserve. Bowraville is worth exploring, too – as is the famous Pub With No Beer!! Mum grew up on dairy farm near Bowraville, and in Nambucca, so I’m a bit biased, but the beaches go on and on – perfect for rambling. And they have a golf course on its very own island! Tell them we sent you.
Also visit pretty Valla Beach and the pub.
