As well as ancient fish traps, Brewarrina boasts amazing free camping like Brewarrina Boat Ramp and 4 Mile Campground. Good news is that Four Mile Reserve is having an upgrade!
A $1.5 million transformation, in fact. It includes new facilities and features added inspired by the local culture and environment, including
- new bathroom amenities
- shade and BBQ area
- improved access to the river
- grassed expanses
- car and van parking and road upgrades – all of which will be fully wheelchair accessible.
Walgett Council have reassured CAMPS that camping will still be free and the number of campsites won’t be changing. The access road (to the right when you first come into Four Mile before the bathrooms) leads you along the river to a few kms of free camping, caravan, RV sites with lots of flat areas for tents, RVs and caravans.
