The Purple Mango Camping, Cafe & Brewery, Northern Territory

The ‘Best little cafe in the bush’ is our newest stopover for campers. Located only 50 minutes outside Darwin at Marrakai just off the Arnhem Highway, its a perfect stopover for travellers to Kakadu.

Facilities include toilets and hot showers and both powered and unpowered sites. Spots are grassy and shady and the kids can explore the gardens and mango trees, there’s a local Corroboree Wetlands tour, its perfect for birdwatchers and visitors to the jumping croc cruises. The campground is accessible from Marrakai road which is dirt or via Clarke Rd which is now sealed bitumen.

Owners Kylie and Adam will welcome you – they offer a licensed cafe Friday through Monday in the dry season, which cooks up a brilliant feed including woodfired pizzas, mango daquiris and beer tasting from their brewery. Fee are $10 per person unpowered or $30 for a powered site.

Its open during the dry season from May to October.
