CAMPS Ambassadors Daniel and Manda from Overland Exposure loved a pub camp in the Northern Territory. They said, “Darwin River Tavern has an awesome unpowered camping area available. We used this as our base for a night to visit Berry Springs and had a great stay for just $10/night.” “If you camp here add another night or two and visit the Territory Wildlife Park, we really loved visiting when we lived in Darwin and highly recommend stopping in.” “This is such an awesome camp – at a Tavern so there’s meals and drinks and live music, a bottle-o, little shop
After a low-key two and a half years, the Barrow Creek Hotel has been able to revitalise and offer meals and a place to stay to the weary traveller between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. This welcoming roadhouse charges a small fee for unpowered pet-friendly sites at the side of the pub with use of amenities, and a bit extra for power. For a real Aussie outback experience, stop in at the roadhouse, enjoy a meal and support this long-time local business. The pub itself is almost 90 years old, with the owner, Les, operating it for the last 34

Camps Ambassadors Dale and Tracey enjoyed a hot soak in the Northern Territory recently! Bitter Springs is definitely one of our favourite hot springs. Set amongst the palm trees in the Elsey National Park, you hop in the thermal spring creek and float down with the current for about 15 minutes til you get to another set of steps, where you hop out and walk back to the start and do it all again. You can see from their video how glorious the water is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3rL7xBvaZI The crystal clear, 32 degree temperature of the water lets you see freshwater turtles if
How beautiful is this? No wonder my mum rated the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise as her favourite day out on her recent Broome to Kakadu trip. As you cruise upstream, the East Alligator River divides the country, with Kakadu National Park on one side and Arnhem Land on the other. Step foot on Arnhem Land and check out the traditional hunting and gathering implements. And you can count crocs! Check out those views of this heritage listed land! What a beautiful part of the world – and not often seen when you visit Kakadu National Park. Mum especially loved how personal the tour was
