Previously called Ongerup Gardens Caravan Park, new owners Lee and Stephen Baker welcome travellers to their corner of WA.
The park is perfectly situated between the Stirling Range and Fitzgerald River National Parks. Home of the Yongergnow Australian Malleefowl Centre with its own aviary as well as a sanctuary for this endangered species. There’s also a cafe with coffee and light meals available.
In September / October you can visit the Wildflower Show. Lee also recommends a visit to the Ongerup Museum. There is a Co-Op shop, roadhouse, tyre service centre, post office, the Ongerup Hotel, children’s playground and a sports oval. Happily, all are within walking distance of the park.
Lee said, “We are pet friendly with pet sitting available if you choose to explore the National Parks in the area. Bremer Bay is only 1.5 hr drive from here. Albany is a good day trip from here as well.”
The in-house accommodation is available for those travellers without a van. The camp kitchen is in the house with lounge room and dining, plus a cosy fire place on those cold winter nights.
The park has drive through sites and a dump point. Check out WA no 78 in CAMPS 10 and WA no 254 in Caravan Parks 5, or find it on our App!
